Land Ho! After a total of 15 days and 2690 nautical miles on the open sea, Sea Dragon and her crew have made it to port in Oahu, Hawai’i! After a voyage consisting of lots of laughs, fishing, learning, sailing, and for the most part fair weather, it’s safe the trip was a success. In the last few hours on the boat, the crew soaked in the warm Hawaiian sun on deck, while enjoying the coastal views of the South Shore of Oahu. Around noon, we finally made it to port. The entire crew was stoked as we tied on that last dock line. We made it! After clearing with customs, Captain Anna and First Mate Maggie surprised us all with some celebratory beers. The sweet taste of victory! We all did a deep clean of the boat, before everyone went off to explore urban Honolulu and enjoy the sweet luxuries of land. Later on Friday night, the Sea Dragon crew met for their last supper at Duke’s Waikiki. We all enjoyed some delicious Hawaiian cocktails as we scarfed down some greasy cheeseburgers, steaks, and chicken wings. All things we have been craving while at sea! We celebrated our accomplishments and shared our joy before we all closed out and went our separate ways. Congratulations to Sea Dragon and her crew on this big accomplishment. Not everyone gets to say that they have sailed across the Pacific Ocean. Especially on a vessel as elite as Sea Dragon. Tina, Hugh, Tim, Rick, Dave, Deadra, Sam, Steve, Isaac, and Jay, thank you for being such a great crew, and congratulations on your accomplishment. Thank you to Anna and Maggie for getting everyone here safely, and in great spirits. We couldn’t have done it without you, literally. Cheers to Sea Dragon, Pangaea Exploration, and the crew. Fair winds and following seas!
