Emily Penn is an oceans advocate, skipper and artist who has extensive exploration experience in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. She is a graduate of Cambridge University with a degree in Sustainable Architecture; and Director of global organisation Pangaea Explorations; and the first and youngest woman to be awarded the international Yachtmaster of the Year. Emily rounded the planet on the biofuelled Earthrace boat; spent 6 months living on a tiny Tongan island organising the largest ever community led rubbish clean-up; and discovered previously unknown oceanic gyres – huge areas of plastic pollution accumulation. An experienced public speaker, Emily has spoken around the world at conferences, universities and global companies about her adventures and issues relating to our oceans, human mindset and future society. Background & Expertise
Divya is an avid traveler who loves adventures and meeting new people. She speaks Spanish fluently and a bit of French, but tries to learn the basics of any language in the country she’s in. Her work expertise is in ecommerce, but her passion is in social impact. She is a Boston native, lived in California for 10 years and is now a proud New Yorker.

Expedition Goals
To learn about sailing and more about the region we are traveling to. I’ve never spent this length of time on board a ship, other than a cruise, and I look forward to being without any internet access so I can collect my thoughts out at sea. I also look forward to having a blast with the entire group on board and celebrating our dear friend Denielle!

Denielle Sachs

[image_frame style=”framed_shadow” height=”194″ width=”194″]http://panexplore.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Denielle-Sachs-photo.jpg[/image_frame]

Background & Expertise
I am a social impact strategist, creative problem-solver and coalition-builder with equal experience in both the board room and the field. I have over 15 years of experience working across industry sectors, within diverse organizational structures, and at the nexus of business, policy and culture. I’m a savvy communications expert, public speaker and storyteller at my core, with a deep personal interest in the use of art and creativity as tools for social impact and culture change.

Expedition Goals
Play, Reflect, Renew. This trip comes just one week after I will have left my job, and is a much needed respite from the rat race…I really want to relish in the time with friends, be goofy and open and loving and find ways to create art…

Background & Expertise
I’m an intellectual property attorney and a law professor/lecturer, but also an actor and artist. I have two careers, basically, which I suppose I offset by having no dependents (outside of an amazing dog, Montgomery Python).

Expedition Goals
As a last-minute joiner, I perhaps haven’t thought through what this could be. I want to learn lessons about sailing, the ocean, and myself; to cultivate inspiration and thoughtfulness for my life and people upon my return; to make new friends; and to celebrate Denielle’s birthday.

Exploring Mindsets was a trip of a lifetime. Learning to sail was such an incredible experience and the workshops that Emily and Dave facilitated both challenged and encouraged me to make some key personal decisions whilst considering what more I can do to nurture our beautiful planet. I left the boat feeling inspired and determined to implement positive changes in my life and with a group of wonderful new friends to support and accompany me on the journey. What more could you want from an adventure?!    Naomi Jane, Guest Crew, Feb 2014 [/tab] [/tabs]
