Following the imense earthquake off Japan this morning there are Tsunami alerts around the Pacific basin.

After consulting with Pangaea Explorations, the Chilean Navy and after seeking all avaliable information we are anchored in a small fishing town called Puerto Eden off the Messier Channel. The crew are currently ashore visiting the town before we will head out to deeper water to anchor for the night ahead of the expected wave surge at 0100 local time, 0400 GMT.

This is purely a precaution and we fully anticipate continuing our progress northwards towards Valdivia tomorrow two hours after the alert time.
