Northwestern Africa Sail | Lanzarote-Agadir-Las Palmas
November 3rd – 11th, 2017
Arrive: Las Palmas
Length: 9 days, 8 nights
Focus: Adventure Sailing, Upwind and downwind offshore sail training
Join Sea Dragon as this adventure begins in Lanzarote and journeys over 200nm upwind to Morocco. With consistent weather usually in the mid 20°c and sunshine every day, this is sailing heaven when combined with the perfect sailing winds of Force 3-4 from a prevailing northeast trade wind. A great training ground to test your mettle and fine-tune your helming techniques, you will also take part in night watches and, if you wish, practice celestial navigation as you sail under African stars.
Eric Loss – Skipper
Eric has been Captain on board Sea Dragon since January 2013 and he loves to facilitate the understanding of and connection to the sea for all of those who come on board.
Shanley McEntee – First Mate
With a degree in Environmental Policy and Marine Science, Shanley continues to explore the world and the different issues mother earth faces. She’s full time with Sea Dragon as First Mate since January of 2013.
Thomas ‘Owen’ McMahon – Deckhand
So now when not on Sea Dragon, Tom can be found teaching people to sail, imparting the joy direct engagement of the sea brings and all sailing has to offer. You will find Tom helping his new sailors to immerse themselves in all things sailing and in building an attachment with their surrounding environment, an interdependence that can only be found on the ocean.
