Sea Dragon is designed to thrive in these waters! Specifically set up for volunteer crew with both experienced and limited sailing experience, she can safely handle any number of sailing conditions the Pacific might throw at her. With a crew capacity of 14 and a cruising speed of 12 knots, she is a comfortable and exciting ocean-going yacht.

Eric Loss – Skipper

Eric has been sailing competitively since his time as a young mariner and in 2011 he sailed around the world single-handed and told his story in Loss at Sea.

Eric has been Captain on board Sea Dragon since January 2013 and he loves to facilitate the understanding of and connection to the sea for all of those who come on board.

Shanley McEntee – First Mate

Shanley has been all over the world and covered over 40,000 miles on all different types of sailing yachts and loves to do everything from scuba diving to surfing to swimming.

With a degree in Environmental Policy and Marine Science, Shanley continues to explore the world and the different issues mother earth faces. She’s full time with Sea Dragon as First Mate since January of 2013.

March 18: Crew join the vessel at 1600 in Cabo San Lucas – safety briefings, introductions, move in and Dinner

March 19: Clear Customs,sail training and depart for Hawaii

March 20 – April 4: Underway to Hawaii

April 5: Arrive Ohau, Hawaii. Clear customs and drink Pina Coladas

April 6: Guests can depart from Vessel from 0900

Contribution Includes:

– Transportation to and from Mexico and Hawaii
– Transportation to and from the boat
– Additional nights spent ashore

Kit: Tropical

All crew members will require a passport from their home country that will allow them to travel to and from Mexico and the United States. Please be aware that many nationalities able to travel to the US under the ESTA visa waiver program will need a B1/B2 visa to enter the US by sea. Please look into the specific type of visa you need for arriving at these destinations by sea: www.travel.state.gov/visa.
