Travel Kit List

We recommend you pack very light. Pack in a small, squashy duffle-type bag, NOT hard suitcases as there is no room to store them on board. Your storage space will be in a box next to your bunk, dimensions – 50cm x 40cm x 26cm.

What to bring (Tropical)

  • Shorts, t-shirts, casual trousers
  • Long sleeve shirt for sun protection
  • At least one warm layer – it can get chilly at night!
  • Swim wear
  • Sandals
  • Closed Toe Deck Shoes (Optional, but cannot wear flip-flops on deck)

What to bring (Temperate/High Latitudes)

  • Long underwear (wool recommended)
  • Warm socks
  • Warm hat
  • 2 Warm fleeces
  • Long sleeve layers
  • T-shirts
  • Fleece pants
  • Warm gloves
  • Boots or deck shoes  (highly recommended that they are waterproof)

Essential for all trips

  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
  • Personal medication
  • Towel
  • Head lamp (ideally one with both red and white)
  • Watch
  • Toiletries (toothpaste, lotion, contact lens solution, etc. the less plastic the better!)
  • Reusable water bottle

  • Pillow, pillowcase, sheets and blanket
  • Foul weather gear (thin waterproof pant and jacket set)
  • Soap
  • Full first aid kit
  • Individual PFD (personal flotation device) with tether

Great ideas for add on

  • Film/camera gear, downloading cables, chargers, memory cards, waterproof housing, extra batteries
  • Power Adapter – Sea Dragon has US plug 110v outlets ONLY on board
  • Laptop
  • Hard drive or memory stick to share photos at end of expedition (we encourage all crew to share their content)
  • Notebook/journal
  • Books, iPod, DVDs for downtime personal entertainment
  • Seasick medication, insect repellant, ear plugs
  • Personal snacks – The boat will be well stocked, but if you have a favorite bring some to share!
  • Mask, snorkel, fins and dive gear if applicable on your trip
