Between Two Countries | Canada and USA
July 16th – 20th, 2018
Depart: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Arrive: Seattle, WA, USA
Length: 5 days, 4 nights
Focus: Adventure Sailing, Offshore sail training
Join us for a voyage where we’ll explore the beautiful islands of Puget Sound and the Pacific Northwest – home to Orcas and rowdy Canadians!
The team will make the five-day sail from Vancouver to Seattle. Out through beautifully forested bays and into the open Pacific. From there, you will experience Sea Dragon in her true element – sailing on the high seas. Passing down the coast for what should be an excellent and interesting sail, she will enter Seattle under the gaze of the Space Needle
For anyone not able to make it for our longer, remote ocean voyages, this trip is an excellent opportunity to experience life on board first hand. Like crews before, you will see and feel the life at sea. You will have an opportunity to marvel at the magnificent marine mammals that frequent this coastline, we will be sailing through as Harbour seals are ‘pupping’ along the straits of Juan de Fuca and the southern Puget Sound and whale migration is firmly underway, Many varieties of whales pass through these northern waterways, including humpback whales, orcas, gray whales and minke whales. There is every chance we will encounter and collect locational data on these amazing creatures, in partnership with sailandwhale.com a pilot project collecting long-term, useful cetacean migration data.
